Cyrex laboratories and Vibrant wellness tests look at markers related to brain health and immune activity in the nervous system. It can help identify whether your body is producing antibodies that may be linked with neurological conditions, giving valuable insight into the underlying drivers of symptoms such as brain fog, memory changes or nerve pain.
Cyrex testing uses gold standard ELISA methodology that assess if a patients antibodies are directed against different components of a target tissue, such as a antibodies against myelin or a food based protein such as raw egg or against a chemical such as mercury
The Vibrant wellness test uses microarray-based immunoassay technology, specifically peptide-based IgG and IgA antibody detection, to identify immune responses to various neural proteins and peptides.
1. Sample Collection
- A small blood sample is collected (usually via venipuncture or fingerstick).
- The sample is sent to the Vibrant Wellness lab.
2. Microchip/Array Platform
- The test is run on Vibrant’s proprietary silicon chip-based microarray platform.
- The chip is embedded with hundreds of neurological antigens, typically as short peptides (protein fragments).
- These antigens are immobilized on the chip in precise patterns.
3. Antibody Detection (IgG & IgA)
- The patient’s serum is applied to the chip.
- If the patient has antibodies (IgG or IgA) against any of the neurological antigens, they will bind to the respective peptides on the chip.
- A secondary labeled antibody (e.g., enzyme- or fluorescence-tagged) is added to bind to the patient’s antibodies, allowing detection.
4. Signal Detection
- The chip is scanned, and signals from bound antibodies are quantified using fluorescent or chemiluminescent scanning systems.
- The intensity of the signal correlates with the concentration of specific antibodies in the patient’s blood.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting
- The results are interpreted using Vibrant’s proprietary algorithms.
- Reactivity levels are classified (e.g., low, moderate, or high) for each antigen.
- The report often includes clinical commentary and potential significance based on existing literature.
